The Sydney Sixers are pleased to announce England international Sophia Dunkley has signed a one-year deal with the Club, returning for Weber WBBL|12.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dunkley quickly\u00a0established\u00a0herself as a key member of the Sixers line-up during WBBL|11, scoring 354 runs to finish as the Club’s second-leading run-scorer behind Ellyse Perry and helping guide the team to the finals.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since making her England debut in 2018, Dunkley has\u00a0established\u00a0herself as one of the world’s leading batters, becoming a key figure across all formats including\u00a0representing\u00a0her country at the recent 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Playing in three matches across the tournament, Dunkley scored\u00a0120 runs at an average of 60.00 and a strike rate of 139.53, with a highest score of 57 off 37 against Scotland, earning her Player of the Match\u00a0honours.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old\u00a0will\u00a0arrive in Australia fresh from success with Trent Rockets in The Hundred, where she played alongside fellow Sixers star Ash Gardner.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dunkley helped steer the Rockets to the 2026 title and became the competition’s all-time leading run-scorer during the tournament.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dunkley said she was thrilled to be returning to the Sixers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I loved my time with the Sixers last\u00a0season\u00a0and I’m\u00a0so\u00a0excited to be back,\u201d Dunkley said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said securing Dunkley’s signature was a significant boost for the Club ahead of WBBL|12.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Sophia made an immediate impact last season, adding quality to our batting line-up and quickly becoming a valued member of the group on and off-the-field,” Haynes said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
