Could this possibly be the best day of my life? In huge news for reality TV fans and gay men across the country, BINGE has announced that The Real Housewives of Melbourne is finally making a comeback<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

The exciting news was unveiled at the Foxtel Media Upfronts on Thursday, with the one and only Gina Liano confirmed to be returning to the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a while between drinks, but some things are worth waiting for. I am delighted to be returning for the new season of The Real Housewives of Melbourne,\u201d she said alongside the announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve missed the glamour, the fabulous women and, of course, the drama. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, meeting some new ones and getting back to what we do best \u2013 having a good time, looking fabulous and causing a little trouble along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

PEDESTRIAN.TV first reported in April<\/a> that the iconic franchise would be making a return following the cancellation of The Real Housewives of Sydney last year.<\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, The Real Housewives of Melbourne launched in 2014 and quickly became one of Australia\u2019s most iconic reality shows. It\u2019s also the most-watched reality show in Foxtel\u2019s history, which is no surprise considering how entertaining and re-watchable it is.<\/p>\n

The show was renewed for four seasons between 2014 and 2018 and made a brief return in 2021 with only three original cast members, not including Gina.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Production on season six is set to begin in 2027, and further cast announcements will be revealed in the coming months. It\u2019s already been teased that the new season will \u201cdeliver a high-octane, culturally relevant and unapologetically entertaining new chapter\u201d that will not only reconnect with the show\u2019s loyal fanbase, but also introduce the series to a new generation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe speculation can finally end \u2013 we\u2019re delivering what fans have been asking for, with Gina Liano returning to The Real Housewives of Melbourne,\u201d Foxtel Group Executive Director, Entertainment Content, Daniel Monaghan, said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd while Gina\u2019s return is just the beginning, we\u2019ve got plenty more fabulous new and returning faces still to reveal. The Housewives are back, Melbourne, and we can\u2019t wait to see what unfolds.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who else will appear on The Real Housewives of Melbourne reboot?<\/p>\n

Confirmation that the new season will feature a mix of familiar and fresh faces makes it clear that we won\u2019t see every former Housewife returning to the show in a full-time capacity, so who could be making the cut?<\/p>\n

Well, the news comes just a few days after Gina reunited with her former co-stars Jackie Gillies and Lydia Schiavello, who posted a series of snaps on Instagram alongside the caption, \u201cAnd then there were three\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, fan favourite Gamble Breaux recently had a memorable appearance on The Traitors Australia<\/a>, which hopefully served as a re-introduction to the Australian public before coming back to the franchise that first made her famous.<\/p>\n

Sources told P.TV in May that Gina was the only OG Housewife confidently expected to return<\/a> at the time, with producers interested in finding fresh\u00a0Melbourne\u00a0socialites and untapped friendship groups rather than rebuilding the series around its former stars.<\/p>\n

The Age<\/a>\u00a0also reported that the show was casting \u201cboss babes\u201d for its upcoming sixth season, with Runway Room Cosmetics CEO and\u00a0Brendan Fevola\u2018s wife,\u00a0Alex Fevola, in the mix. Other potential cast members include former\u00a0Yummy Mummies\u00a0star\u00a0Lorinska Merrington, beauty entrepreneur\u00a0Victoria Curtis, and Booby Tape founders\u00a0Bianca\u00a0and\u00a0Bridgett Roccisano.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll have to wait and see who else is added to the cast, but at least we know we\u2019ll be in safe hands with Gina involved.
