Now, the popular ramen shop is coming to Adelaide with the chain\u2019s second Australian store opening in the new Adelaide Central Market development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-left text-[20px] leading-[1.75rem]\">When Makoto Iwata opened the first store in Tokyo in 2013, Ginza Kagari was a welcome anomaly serving its tori paitan ramen in what was \u2013 at the time \u2013 a pork tonkotsu-heavy scene. It earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2016 and 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-left text-[20px] leading-[1.75rem]\">William Foo, an Adelaide-based ramen lover, visited the Japan store and was hooked from his first bowl.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-left text-[20px] leading-[1.75rem]\">\u201cI first tried Ginza Kagari three years ago while travelling in Japan, and that bowl really stayed with me,\u201d Foo<a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inline cursor-pointer border-b border-current pb-0 transition duration-100 hover:border-dotted\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadsheet.com.au\/melbourne\/food-and-drink\/article\/tokyo-ginza-kagari-chicken-ramen-russell-street\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> told <\/a><a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inline cursor-pointer border-b border-current pb-0 transition duration-100 hover:border-dotted\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadsheet.com.au\/melbourne\/food-and-drink\/article\/tokyo-ginza-kagari-chicken-ramen-russell-street\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Broadsheet<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inline cursor-pointer border-b border-current pb-0 transition duration-100 hover:border-dotted\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadsheet.com.au\/melbourne\/food-and-drink\/article\/tokyo-ginza-kagari-chicken-ramen-russell-street\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> in February<\/a>. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t just rich, it was balanced and thoughtful. When I came back to Australia, I couldn\u2019t stop thinking about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-left text-[20px] leading-[1.75rem]\">In 2024, Foo and Iwata met to discuss bringing the brand to Australia and the first Australian store opened in Melbourne this February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-left text-[20px] leading-[1.75rem]\">Ginza Kagari\u2019s second Australian shop is joining the new vendors opening in Adelaide Central Market\u2019s<a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inline cursor-pointer border-b border-current pb-0 transition duration-100 hover:border-dotted\" href=\"https:\/\/stylechecker.broadsheet.com.au\/-%09https:\/www.broadsheet.com.au\/adelaide\/food-and-drink\/article\/adelaide-central-market-expansion-2026-vendors\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-bsx-external-link-tracked=\"true\"> new expanded market hall<\/a> as one of the first 16 vendors announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-left text-[20px] leading-[1.75rem]\">\u201cBringing Ginza Kagari to Adelaide is an exciting next chapter for us. Adelaide Central Market\u2019s strong connection to food, culture and community makes it a natural home for the brand,\u201d Foo said in a statement. \u201cAt the heart of Ginza Kagari is our signature broth, which will be imported directly from Japan to ensure guests in Adelaide experience the same depth of flavour and quality that defines our ramen in Japan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-left text-[20px] leading-[1.75rem]\">The soup base is produced in Japan using soft mountain spring water and fresh chicken that is processed within 24 hours.
