There\u2019s no doubt we\u2019re all itching for a Justin Bieber comeback<\/a> Down Under, especially after the buzz surrounding his performance at the FIFA World Cup final in July. However, it looks like we\u2019ll be waiting longer for JB\u2019s return after the NFL shut down rumours of talks regarding a halftime performance<\/a> at Melbourne\u2019s San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams match.\n<\/p>\n

Speaking to Pedestrian SPORT and SPORTbible Australia\u2018s James Emmanuel, an executive for the NFL shut down all talks regarding a potential performance from the \u201cSPEED DEMON\u201d singer, explaining that Bieber was never in talks for an NFL appearance. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo, [we\u2019re] not aware of any conversation with Justin Bieber for the halftime show <\/a>of the Melbourne game,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n

Rumours of Bieber leading the NFL Melbourne half-time performance were first fuelled by ex-AFL player<\/a> and ex-Big Brother Australia housemate Daniel Gorringe,<\/a> who claimed he heard the star being name-dropped during discussions of the upcoming match. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe heard a conversation from the people who, only I can assume, were connected to Scott Hanson and the NFL,\u201d Gorringe began in the podcast snippet which was published back in May. <\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone was asked, \u2018Who would be your ideal, you know, halftime entertainment or pre-show entertainment for the NFL when they\u2019re here in October?\u2019 And that person said, \u2018Oh, I\u2019d like, you know, Bruce Springsteen or something like that, someone big.\u2019 The NFL people go, \u2018Oh, well, think bigger.\u2019 Leant in and said, \u2018What do you mean bigger?\u2019 And we heard, and they said, \u2018Justin Bieber.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Towards the end of the snippet, Gorringe referred to Bieber as \u201cJB\u201d, which could also hint at a possible miscommunication of who the actual half-time performers are, which has since been announced as fellow \u201cJB\u201d title sharers, the Jonas Brothers. <\/p>\n

In early August, the NFL confirmed that Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas will be heading Down Under to lead the half-time performance alongside Aussie acts Peking Duk and Kita Alexander. <\/p>\n

As someone who loves both JBs, I\u2019m down with either. However, I am LONG overdue for a live performance of \u201cDevotion\u201d from Mr Bieber. <\/p>\n
