{"id":87251,"date":"2026-09-03T14:30:33","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T14:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/87251\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T14:30:33","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T14:30:33","slug":"cold-front-to-bring-wet-weather-to-the-nations-south-while-warm-and-dry-conditions-persist-across-central-and-eastern-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/87251\/","title":{"rendered":"Cold front to bring wet weather to the nation\u2019s south, while warm and dry conditions persist across central and eastern Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wet weather returns across much of the nation on Thursday as a second cold front arrives.<\/p>\n<p>The cold front is bringing brisk westerly winds and showers across the country&#8217;s south on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Tasmania will feel the brunt of the cold front as rain and thunderstorms are forecast in the region, as well as very strong winds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The front will also bring some showers across the southeast mainland, however, much of the southeast will be dominated by the large area of high pressure, meaning clear skies will continue.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures will plummet in the southeast on Thursday, while showers affect the north-east tropics.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, a dry and warm Thursday is forecast for the rest of the nation, particularly across central and eastern parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Showers are forecast on the east coast of Queensland, yet conditions remain sunny elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Morning fog will appear between Cairns and Townsville.<\/p>\n<p>Showers are also expected across the southern and central slopes and ranges in inland plains of New South Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Conditions will remain dry otherwise, and some patchy morning frost is expected in the far southern ranges.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The cold front will not quite reach Sydney as warm temperatures continue for much of eastern New South Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Daytime temperatures will remain above average in the north and the east of New South Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Wet weather is forecast to hit south of the divide in Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>Fresh and gusty winds are expected across the Alpine peaks and near the coast.<\/p>\n<p>South Australia&#8217;s agricultural areas are forecast for isolated showers, with a chance for a thunderstorm in the far south-western corner.<\/p>\n<p>Showers are forecast across the south-western parts of the south-west land division in Western Australia, extending across the south coast during the day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is a chance of showers and storms over the eastern Goldfields, southern south interior and eastern Eucla.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is otherwise warm and sunny in northern parts of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Mostly sunny conditions are expected across the Northern Territory, with a medium chance of showers expected in the Top End.<\/p>\n<p>National forecast for ThursdaySydney<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of warmth and sunshine is forecast in Sydney on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures will reach a high of 27C and a low of 17C.<\/p>\n<p>Melbourne<\/p>\n<p>Wet weather is forecast in Melbourne on Thursday due to the cold front.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures will range between a high of 17C and a low of 10C.<\/p>\n<p>Brisbane<\/p>\n<p>Brisbane locals are in for a scorching hot Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures will reach a high of 31C and a low of 14C.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Canberra<\/p>\n<p>A cold front will bring wet weather to Canberrans on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A low of 8C is expected and a high of 17C.<\/p>\n<p>Adelaide<\/p>\n<p>Rainy weather is expected in Adelaide on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures will drop to a low of 11C and a high of 18C.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hobart<\/p>\n<p>Hobart locals are in for a wet and windy Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A low of 9C is forecast and a high of 14C.<\/p>\n<p>Perth<\/p>\n<p>Showers are on the cards for Perth on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Conditions will drop temperatures to 10C, with a high of 19C expected.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Darwin<\/p>\n<p>Medium chance of showers in Darwin on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Mercury will hover between 21C and 33C.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wet weather returns across much of the nation on Thursday as a second cold front arrives.
