Detectives have arrested two men, including a CFMEU delegate, as part of a probe into alleged drug trafficking on construction sites in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
Taskforce Hawk officers have also seized \u201csignificant quantities\u201d of steroids amid investigations, police have said.<\/p>\n
Police carried out search warrants at addresses in Mulgrave, Heathmont and Fitzroy from 5.45am on Thursday.<\/p>\n
A 35-year-old Mulgrave man, who is a CFMEU delegate, was arrested along with a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman from Fitzroy.<\/p>\n
The CFMEU official and the other man were charged after the trio were interviewed.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old faces charges of traffic anabolic steroid, possess prescription drug, possess drug of dependence, possess prohibited weapon and possess controlled weapon.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old was charged with counts of traffic anabolic steroid, possess prescription drug, possess drug of dependence, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and possess prohibited weapon.<\/p>\n
The pair were bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates\u2019 Court on January 19 next year.<\/p>\n
The arrested woman was released with an intent to summons.<\/p>\n
A raft of other items, including a large quantity of steroids and peptides, have also been seized from the addresses.<\/p>\n
A quantity of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, electronic devices, a taser, two extendable batons, OC spray, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash were also seized by police.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice will allege the trio were involved in importing a range of illicit drugs and steroids through the mail and trafficking them at construction sites across Melbourne,\u201d a Victoria Police statement said.<\/p>\n
