The shocking sudden death of a beloved 33-year-old mum has rocked the small, rural Australian town she called home. <\/p>\n
Almost two weeks ago, Chantelle Winters collapsed at her home in Bombala, in far southern NSW, and was rushed to hospital after struggling with brutal headaches. <\/p>\n
Following the doctors\u2019 urgent advice, she travelled to Canberra, where she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and underwent emergency lifesaving surgery.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was treated with a stint, and all looked promising over the next week. She was expected to be in hospital for another week,\u201d family friend Belinda Cuzner told news.com.au.<\/p>\n
Chantelle was on the road to recovery and looking forward to returning to the comforts of home.<\/p>\n
Tragically, her condition suddenly took a turn for the worse on Friday morning. <\/p>\n
Mum, 33, passes away after \u2018catastrophic\u2019 stroke<\/p>\n
Her husband Wayne and their two sons, Tyler, 16, and Rylie, 12, stayed nearby the previous night and were told to return to the hospital immediately.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019d had an episode. She went into surgery, and it was discovered that she\u2019d had a catastrophic stroke,\u201d Ms Cuzner explained. <\/p>\n
\u201cNot much more could be done for her.\u201d<\/p>\n
With her loved ones by her side, Chantelle\u2019s life support was turned off on Sunday. She was 33 years young. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s unknown what caused the mum\u2019s sudden downturn.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe it\u2019s just one of those complications that can happen after that sort of surgery,\u201d Ms Cuzner said.<\/p>\n
Community rallies around family of beloved mum<\/p>\n
The community of Bombala is now rallying around Wayne, Tyler and Rylie, who Ms Cuzner said are \u201cstill in shock\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re still coming to terms with the fact that they don\u2019t have her there anymore. She was the absolute love of Wayne\u2019s life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Just a couple of years ago the family bought a home, which Chantelle was \u201cover the moon about\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt meant the world to her to be able to provide her boys with that security,\u201d Ms Cuzner said.<\/p>\n
The \u201camazing mum\u201d who had a \u201cgreat imagination\u201d had since been tackling various DIY projects to make the space their own. <\/p>\n
Tributes flow for mum with a \u2018heart of pure gold\u2019<\/p>\n
Chantelle was also a hard worker and was often seen chatting with locals and tourists in the bistro of the local club where she was employed.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was everyone\u2019s friend. She would talk to anybody. She just had an absolutely beautiful heart,\u201d Ms Cuzner tearfully recalled, adding the \u201cstraight talker\u201d had a \u201cheart of pure gold\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe fought for those that she loved, whether that be her boys or her friends. She just wanted to do right by everybody. She just had an amazing soul.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Cuzner has created a GoFundMe to help Wayne and the boys with funeral costs and bills as they grieve their tremendous loss.<\/p>\n
