{"id":87695,"date":"2026-09-04T02:30:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T02:30:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/87695\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T02:30:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T02:30:13","slug":"ikea-mini-home-exhibit-appears-in-melbourne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/87695\/","title":{"rendered":"Ikea \u2018mini home\u2019 exhibit appears in Melbourne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ikea has installed a miniature home exhibition in its Melbourne store, one of three such installations worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by Stockholm-based artist Christopher Nordstrom, the Swedish retailer said the in-store experience is designed to highlight the efficacy of small, affordable changes at home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople usually don\u2019t aim for the perfect home, but the one that feels easier to live in,\u201d said Javier Quinones, the global commercial manager of Ikea\u2019s owner, the Ingka Group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re putting even greater focus on creating a better everyday life at home and making sure the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideretail.com.au\/sectors\/why-ikea-is-abandoning-the-big-box-playbook-in-china-202601\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">solutions we offer are accessible and affordable<\/a>. By helping people keep what matters, put away the things they don\u2019t need every day, and make space for what brings them joy, we want to make home feel easier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The miniature homes are also appearing in Chengdu and Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>Each home is hand-built at a one-to-12 scale. The Melbourne design features a bookcase full of novels and art prints along with what Ikea calls tributes to the city\u2019s sporting culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you build in miniature, you can\u2019t include everything,\u201d Nordstrom added. \u201cEvery object has to earn its place.
