{"id":87957,"date":"2026-09-04T07:14:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T07:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/87957\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T07:14:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T07:14:10","slug":"not-an-easy-call-return-of-subiaco-night-market-postponed-due-to-wild-perth-weather-forecast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/87957\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Not an easy call\u2019: Return of Subiaco Night Market postponed due to wild Perth weather forecast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Perth residents looking forward to heading to Subiaco\u2019s Night Market will unfortunately have to rethink their Saturday plans, with the weather forcing the return of the event\u2019s 2026 season to be postponed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Organisers confirmed the delays were due to adverse weather conditions, with Perth due to be hit by showers throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting up to 15mm of rainfall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Event director of Subi Night Market Kate MacKinnon said it was a difficult decision to make.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cPostponing opening night wasn\u2019t an easy call, but the safety of our vendors, staff and the Subiaco community always comes first,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cWith inclement weather forecast for Saturday afternoon into the early evening , we made the decision to move our launch to Saturday 12 September, so we can deliver the market experience everyone\u2019s been looking forward to.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cWe\u2019re grateful for the community\u2019s patience, and in the meantime Subiaco\u2019s restaurants, bars and venues are ready to welcome everyone in for a busy Father\u2019s Day weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">After welcoming more than 130,000 visitors last season, the beloved local market was due to return for its biggest season yet, transforming Market Square Park into a bustling weekly Saturday night destination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Running until May, the market boasts \u2018European-style\u2019 food and live entertainment in the heart of Subiaco, with six new food and drink vendors due to join the already more than 40 food stalls and 20 artisan traders taking part in the market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Subi Night Market will run from 5pm to 9pm each Saturday from 12 September 2026 to 8 May 2027, excluding Saturday 24 October 2026.
