<\/p>\nWith matches spread across the three venues \u2014 Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Squashworld Mirrabooka and the Belmont Squash Centre \u2014 there was plenty of exciting drama, thrilling comebacks and seeded upsets on Day Six of the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships.<\/p>\n
Kicking off the Men\u2019s 50+ action at Karrinyup Shopping Centre was No.1 seed Michael Corren, who beat Spain\u2019s Javier Gonzalvez Fernandez [5\/8] in straight games to confirm his place in tomorrow\u2019s semi-final.<\/p>\n
The former World No.38, who currently sits third on the list alongside Mohamed ElShorbagy for most career titles won on the PSA Squash Tour (65), continued his mission of adding yet another trophy to his already impressive collection with a strong victory in front of the Perth crowd.<\/p>\n
Also earning a place in tomorrow\u2019s Men\u2019s 50+ semi-finals was two-time World Masters silver medallist Zuko Kubukeli [2] of South Africa, who showed great determination on the glass court as he came back from 2-1 down to win his match against New Zealand\u2019s Corey Love [9\/16]. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the finalists in the Women\u2019s 45+ draw were confirmed in dramatic fashion, with New Zealand\u2019s Samantha Mickleson [3\/4] securing her place in Sunday\u2019s final after staging an incredible five-game comeback against No.2 seed Kim Graham of Australia.<\/p>\n
With Mickleson falling 2-0 behind, an exit from the competition looked on the cards. However, she was able to find another level in her game and step up to her opponent, winning the next two games 11-4, 11-7.<\/p>\n
With the scores tied, the Kiwi was able to maintain her momentum and win the fifth game 11-5, completing an incredible comeback and securing her place in the final.<\/p>\n
Joining her in Sunday\u2019s final will be No.1 seed and former World No.78 Larissa Stephenson of New Zealand, who recorded an impressive straight-games victory over Australia\u2019s Rennelle Karwalski [3\/4].<\/p>\n
At Squashworld Mirrabooka, England\u2019s Mark Woodliffe [5\/8] eliminated seven-time World Masters champion Geoff Davenport in the quarter-finals of the Men\u2019s 65+ draw.<\/p>\n
Woodliffe, who has missed several World Masters Championships in the past, has been showing great form throughout the tournament and was able to replicate that performance once again today, winning 11-5, 11-6, 11-7 to reach tomorrow\u2019s semi-finals.<\/p>\n
Downing the title record holder, Woodliffe shared his joy, saying: \u201cHaving missed out on several Worlds through injuries, I\u2019m delighted finally to be here, and it was a privilege to play Geoff.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to be on top form to come through against a great champion, and I was happy with how I played.\u201d<\/p>\n
While one record wasn\u2019t to be extended, England\u2019s Ann Manley equalled Davenport\u2019s record after claiming top spot in the Women\u2019s 80+ Round Robin Group at the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships.<\/p>\n
Not only did Manley\u2019s success at this year\u2019s event see her equal the record for most World Masters titles with seven, but she also became the first woman to win an 80+ category after beating Australia\u2019s Pamela Moran [2] 11-5, 11-6, 11-3.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, at the Belmont Squash Centre, Guyana\u2019s Richard Chin [1] avoided an upset as he came from behind to beat Scotland\u2019s Adrian Richmond [5\/8] in the Men\u2019s 55+ quarter-final.<\/p>\n
Despite going down 1-0, the nine-time US Masters Champion was able to bounce back and claim the next three games 13-11, 11-9, 11-8, as he continues his pursuit of the prestigious world title.<\/p>\n
On Court One in the Women\u2019s 50+ draw, Canada\u2019s Kelsey Souchereau [5\/8] upset the seeded order as she took down Australia\u2019s Cindy Meintjes [3\/4] in a five-game thriller.<\/p>\n
Despite taking the lead with an 11-7 win in the opener, the Canadian wasn\u2019t able to hold onto it for long, as Meintjes quickly responded by claiming the next two games 11-8, 12-10.<\/p>\n
With momentum swinging against the Canadian, she was able to turn the tide of the contest, tying the scores at 2-2 with a determined 11-8 win.<\/p>\n
Moving into the final game with everything to play for, Souchereau was able to maintain her form, claiming the fifth 11-6 to complete the upset and secure her place in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n
With the semi-final places confirmed, the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships will return for Day Seven tomorrow, Saturday 5 September, with play beginning across all three venues at 10:00am (GMT+8).<\/p>\n
