Held on the evening of Wednesday 6 May 2026, the Deals at Dusk event \u2014 presented by Investability<\/a> \u2014 provides investors with a unique opportunity to network, enjoy food and drinks, and watch a live band, all while listening to compelling CEO pitches.<\/p>\n

Following a jam-packed schedule at RIU Sydney<\/a> at the Hyatt Regency, the Royal Exchange of Sydney overflowed with investors listening to presentations from mining exploration companies, including (in order of presentation) <\/a> American West Metals<\/a> (ASX:AW1), Castile Resources<\/a> (ASX:CST), <\/a> Critica<\/a> (ASX:CRI), Santana Minerals<\/a> (ASX:SMI), True North Copper<\/a> (ASX:TNC), and West Coast Silver<\/a> (ASX:WCE).<\/p>\n

Host and Investability Principal Dannika Warburton says, \u201cWe\u2019ve got over 200 investors registered for the evening, six presenters \u2014 six mining companies hand-picked by us that we believe have good stories for the investment community to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a Q&A hosted by leading analyst Michael Orphanides, previously at Tribeca, who has now just recently moved to Peloton Capital. He\u2019ll be putting the presenters through their paces, asking them all the questions you need to know to make an assessment about investing in their companies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re providing an opportunity for the Sydney investment community to have an informal investment event to hear some interesting company stories and network with their peers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Highlights of the event include Critica\u2019s presentation on rare earths and other critical minerals. CEO Jacob Deysel asks: \u201cWhat is the most important component of your mobile phone? It\u2019s not the screen\u2026 it\u2019s not the battery\u2026 it\u2019s the invisible rare earth elements (REE) that make it all possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deysel says the REE market is extremely concentrated: China controls most of the supply, including metals such as gallium, tungsten<\/a>, and tin. Markets are recognising this supply issue\/bottleneck and governments are investing in domestic explorers to get the control of supply out of China\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n

Deysel says Critica\u2019s Jupiter Project is Australia\u2019s largest clay-hosted magnet rare earth resource. It also holds Mount Lindsay in Tasmania, one of the largest undeveloped tungsten assets in Australia.<\/p>\n

Other highlights of the night include True North Copper\u2019s presentation by Managing Director Andrew Mooney. True North is advancing a portfolio of wholly owned assets in Queensland\u2019s world-class Mount Isa region. Its flagship is the Mt Oxide Project which hosts a significant copper-cobalt-silver system. The company\u2019s projects are backed by an expert team that takes the time to do things right, ensuring that the company is economically and technologically robust.<\/p>\n

Mooney says: \u201cWe\u2019ve been drilling for two months, and the results are coming soon\u201d. Peer comparison charts show True North is undervalued compared to the copper<\/a> it has in the ground \u2014 something the drill results could confirm soon.<\/p>\n

West Coast Silver\u2019s Technical Director Serge Smolonogov makes another interesting point that, according to an S&P report, most money is actually going into brownfields not greenfields deposits, and Australia has \u201cmany old historic dormant operations\u201d. It is therefore important to explore both greenfields and brownfields opportunities as junior exploration companies.<\/p>\n

The event attracts a full house of keen investors taking advantage of the opportunity to speak with the management teams of the companies they want to invest in, as well as share ideas and experiences with each other.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the fantastic evening was a performance by the Smoking Guns, with industry legend Peter Cook (currently non-executive Chairman of Santana Minerals) playing bass guitar.<\/p>\n
