A teenager has been arrested after he led police on a dramatic chase across Melbourne\u2019s southeast in a stolen BMW on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
It is alleged that offenders forced entry to a home on Beddoe Ave, Brighton East, about 3.45am on Sunday and stole the keys to two cars.<\/p>\n
The offenders then allegedly broke into a second home on Union St where police said they were \u201cdisturbed by the occupant and fled empty-handed\u201d before stealing a green Subaru from a separate property on the street.<\/p>\n
The offenders then allegedly returned to the Beddoe Ave property about 4.20am and stole a white BMW.<\/p>\n
A short time later, the Air Wing spotted the BMW travelling at speed on the Nepean Hwy towards Mordialloc, a police spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n
Police on the ground tracked the vehicle in a long pursuit, with stop sticks deployed in an attempt to stop the car but the BMW continued on its rims.<\/p>\n
The car finally came to a halt inbound on the Monash Fwy, in Glen Waverley.<\/p>\n
The driver, an 18-year old Baxter man, was arrested at the scene and taken to the hospital with minor injuries and will be interviewed.<\/p>\n
A 17-year old boy, an 18-year old man from Carlton and a 43-year old Port Melbourne woman were arrested later on Sunday following reports a Subaru Outlander had crashed into a business in Campbellfield.<\/p>\n
Police allege the trio, who were arrested after ploughing the car into a \u201cvacant hut at a Bolinda Rd business\u201d was also involved in the aggravated burglary in Brighton East.<\/p>\n
The owner of the BMW did not want to comment on Sunday morning, saying he was busy dealing with his insurance company.<\/p>\n
The man, with the help of a neighbour, could be seen disconnecting a battery from another car to deter offenders from returning to steal it.<\/p>\n
Crime Scene Services attended the scene and spoke with neighbours on the street.<\/p>\n
One man told the Herald Sun the area had been targeted several times recently, with people on the street dubbing it \u201cGhetto Avenue\u201d.<\/p>\n
