Brisbane Roar have confirmed the departures of goalkeeper Macklin Freke and midfielder Henry Hore following the conclusion of their respective contracts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both players leave the Roar having made significant contributions to the club both on and off the pitch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Freke departs after more than a decade with the Roar having come through the club\u2019s youth ranks. <\/p>\n

\"\"Macklin Freke <\/p>\n

He was part of the 2019 A-League Youth Championship winning squad and progressed to make his Isuzu UTE A-League debut in the 2020\/21 season.<\/p>\n

Making 75 appearances in total Freke was also named Gary Wilkins Player of the Season in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile attacking midfielder Hore brings about an end to his five-year chapter at the club, finishing with 104 appearances to his name.<\/p>\n

A fan favourite from the outset, Hore was named Young Player of the Year in his debut season and will now head overseas to explore opportunities elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Hore\u00a0was offered a contract extension by the club but\u00a0elected\u00a0not to take up the new deal having previously spent time playing in Korea Republic.<\/p>\n

The departures of both Hore and Freke come after the club also confirmed it had released a large number of this season\u2019s first team squad.<\/p>\n

Defenders Ben Warland, Austin Ludwik and Antonee Burke-Gilroy are all on the look out for a new club after departing.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile forwards Michael Ruhs, Ben Halloran, Chris Long, Quinn\u00a0MacNicol\u00a0and\u00a0Jacob Brazete have also all left following the expiration of their contracts.<\/p>\n
