Sacked North Melbourne<\/a> coach Alastair Clarkson has moved on from his sudden departure, donating a pile of Kangaroos apparel to a local op shop.<\/p>\n

The four-time Hawthorn premiership coach was last week let go with a year to run on his lucrative contract.<\/p>\n

A brutally honest press conference from club president Sonja Hood and football boss Todd Viney followed, prompting Clarkson to declare he felt North hierarchy \u2018danced on his grave\u2019.<\/p>\n

And so on the weekend he wasted little time cleaning house, literally, as he took bags of North Melbourne T-shirts, shorts and jackets to Vinnies in Hampton.<\/p>\n

An Indigenous Round warm-up top complete with Clarkson\u2019s name on the back was even found in the collection.<\/p>\n

Clarkson\u2019s move comes after he already described his family as being \u201cpublicly humiliated\u201d by the circumstances of his exit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just shocked, and we just thought we were owed a little bit of respect in being informed and warned,\u201d Clarkson told The Age.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead, they chose to dance on my grave like this.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny deficiencies I\u2019ve got \u2014 and you know that I\u2019ve got them \u2014 to be absolutely blindsided like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow we all feel to be so publicly humiliated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clarkson arrived at North as head coach amid great fanfare after being appointed in August 2022.<\/p>\n

But his stint at Arden St couldn\u2019t have started off any worse, with the emergence of the Hawthorn racism saga in September 2022.<\/p>\n

Clarkson denied all allegations from the start and was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat took enormous toll on him … I\u2019m not sure the scars have fully healed,\u201d Viney said of Clarkson on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Clarkson hit back at suggestions his relationships with players and staff had deteriorated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that all my fault, is it?\u201d Clarkson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mantra has never changed, and that has been to have care and empathy to help players chase their dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like my life\u2019s shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Premiership coaches John Longmire and Adam Simpson have naturally been floated as options to take over from Clarkson due to their stature as champion former North players.<\/p>\n

But after watching first-time coaches Steven King and Josh Fraser succeed this year, the Kangaroos could be inclined to find a highly rated assistant.<\/p>\n

Jaymie Graham (Fremantle), Corey Enright (St Kilda) and James Kelly (Geelong) were in contention for the Carlton job, before Fraser\u2019s results as interim coach made him the only choice for the Blues.<\/p>\n
