Henkell Brothers Investment Managers had owned the property since 1997.<\/p>\n<p>The developer filed plans for <a data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.theurbandeveloper.com\/articles\/stockland-jetstar-hq-development-brooklyn-data-centre-exhibition\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theurbandeveloper.com\/articles\/stockland-jetstar-hq-development-brooklyn-data-centre-exhibition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">its $302-million redevelopment of the Collingwood site<\/a> in April. The proposal was fast-tracked via the Victorian Government\u2019s Development Facilitation Program.<\/p>\n<p>Stockland executive general manager for apartments Ben Christie said the Collingwood development would deliver new homes in a location where people want and need to live.<\/p>\n<p>Christie said the project \u201cdemonstrates how well-located, higher-density development can support thriving, connected communities while delivering meaningful public benefits\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/260527_07_Garden_Plaza_to_Bldg_A.jpg\" alt=\"The 478-apartment block approval marks Stockland\u2019s first move into the Victorian apartment market in two decades. Collingwood\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u25b2 The Collingwood approval is Stockland\u2019s first project in the Victorian apartment market in two decades.<\/p>\n<p>The Collingwood project comprises 478 homes across two buildings of 17 and 23 storeys in a mix of townhouses, studios, one to three-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom penthouses. Retail and community green space are also included, as are\u00a0297 car spaces and 199 bicycle spots.<\/p>\n<p>The site on the Victoria Parade tram corridor in the Smith Street Major Activity Centre is about 1.5km from Melbourne\u2019s CBD.<\/p>\n<p>Construction is slated to commence in 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Jetstar will remain at Collingwood until its current lease runs out in 2027.
