A former staffer to Alan Jones told friends the broadcaster had worn an open robe around him at home and had sent him explicit text messages, a court has heard.<\/p>\n
Two friends of complainant \u201cC\u201d, who has accused Jones of unwanted kissing and touching almost 20 years ago, gave statements to police that were tendered in the former 2GB host\u2019s criminal trial on Monday.<\/p>\n

One of the friends said \u201cC\u201d had told him Jones would \u201cgive me a massage\u201d and \u201ctouch me on the leg when I was driving him\u201d, the Downing Centre Local Court heard.<\/p>\n
The friend told police that \u201cC\u201d had also told him: \u201cWhen I would be at Alan\u2019s house, he would be wearing a robe [and] it would be open.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man said \u201cC\u201d made the comments \u201cin a lighthearted way\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never asked \u2018C\u2019 directly about what he meant by these comments because we were young at the time,\u201d he said. \u201cI wasn\u2019t comfortable asking him more about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man said that in 2023, \u201cC\u201d had told friends \u201che had received a text message from Alan a couple of years beforehand at Christmas where Alan wrote \u2026 something like, \u2018I hope you and your big c— enjoy your Christmas\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
A second friend said in a statement that he had a memory of having a conversation with \u201cC\u201d in which the complainant made an \u201coffhand remark to me about a text message he had received from Alan\u201d asking him to send a photo of his penis.<\/p>\n
The man said that \u201cC\u201d told him Jones sent him messages like this sometimes.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe \u2018C\u2019 told me he just deletes the messages,\u201d the witness said. He said \u201cC\u201d had not shown him the message, and he had \u201cnever seen any messages between \u2018C\u2019 and Alan\u201d.<\/p>\n
Jones, 85, is standing trial on 20 counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual touching without consent relating to six male complainants. The alleged assaults span a 17-year period from 2003 to 2020.<\/p>\n
Jones denies any of the alleged physical acts occurred.<\/p>\n
Of the 22 charges, eight indecent assault charges relate to \u201cC\u201d and involve alleged touching of the complainant\u2019s penis over his clothing or kissing.<\/p>\n
Related Article Another friend of \u201cC\u201d gave evidence in court last month that the complainant had told him in 2023 that \u201cAlan used to \u2018full grab him on the c— \u2019, or words to that [effect].\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe seemed quite agitated and quite distressed when he was talking,\u201d the witness said.<\/p>\n The complainant was \u201cvery intoxicated\u201d, the man said, and had told him he had spoken to The Sydney Morning Herald\u2019s chief investigative reporter, Kate McClymont, about his allegations.<\/p>\n The court heard that the friend of \u201cC\u201d signed a police statement in 2024, which said the complainant had \u201cmade the odd comment\u201d to him over the years that \u201cAlan was in love with him\u201d.
