Check out the lineups below.

Positioned at the gateway to Oxford Street, the venue’s relaunch comes amid ongoing conversations around the future of Sydney nightlife and the need for more dedicated live music spaces. Alongside a recent refurbishment, the Burdekin is doubling down on live performance with a multi-room setup that includes two band rooms with capacities of 300 and 160, plus a separate 140-capacity room dedicated to electronic music programming.

The new direction is being spearheaded alongside music company Good Intent, which has built a strong reputation across Sydney’s independent music scene through its work in touring, events, artist services and creative production. Their partnership was announced in January.

Head booker Amelia Vesperman said the partnership reflected a shared commitment to supporting live music culture at a critical time for the city. “We’ve always been about building culture, but that requires a venue partner who ‘gets it’ – not just the bottom line,” she said.

“The Burdekin is stepping up at a time when Sydney needs it most. It’s a massive win to work with people who treat the scene with the respect it deserves, rather than just another commodity to be managed.”

Through its events arm, Good Intent has previously programmed a mix of international and local artists including Fontaines D.C., IDLES, Tash Sultana, Spacey Jane, Miss Kaninna, Private Function, The Preatures, SXSW Sydney, Phoebe Go, Hockey Dad and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers.

Beyond live events, the company also operates across artist management, publicity, marketing and label services, while running photography and videography studio Good Loco out of Marrickville.

BURDEKIN BANDROOM LAUNCH PARTIES 2026

GROUND FLOOR
Friday, May 15th | PosseShot
Saturday, May 16th | Banks Arcade
Saturday, May 23rd | Kirin J Callinan
Friday, June 5th | Heists
Saturday, June 6th | Clay J Gladstone x NTH RD
Saturday, June 20th | Virtues
Saturday, July 4th | Starcrazy
Friday, July 17th | Charli Lucas
Friday, July 24th | Front End Loader w/ Fangz
Friday, July 31st | Radium Dolls

LEVEL ONE
Friday, May 8th | Arkangel
Friday, May 15th | Social Strangers
Friday, May 29th | Sarah Jane & The Noise
Saturday, June 20th | Paint The Air
Friday, June 26th | Dregg

+ more to be announced

A new live music chapter is kicking off in Sydney’s Darlinghurst, with the Burdekin Hotel officially launching the…

[5
1697,1698,1699,1700,247
post-910","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-sydney","tag-amelia-vesperman","tag-burdekin-bandroom","tag-burdekin-hotel","tag-good-intent","tag-sydney
["GET
