The father of Australian brothers allegedly murdered in Mexico has given heartbreaking evidence at the trial of their accused killers, saying his life since their deaths has been \u201chell\u201d and revealing \u201cwhat we can\u2019t understand\u201d.<\/p>\n

Martin Robinson and his wife Debra have made the trip from Perth<\/a> to Ensenada seeking answers over the deaths<\/a> of their sons Callum and Jake Robinson<\/a> in April 2024.<\/p>\n

The parents were hand in hand as they entered court on Tuesday, a day dedicated to testimony from those who knew and loved the alleged victims most.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hell,\u201d Martin told the court when asked what the last two years had been like without his boys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard enough for a parent to lose one child but we lost two sons in horrific circumstances and it\u2019s left a huge hole in our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

The brothers and their American friend Carter Rhoad had visited Mexico to camp and surf.<\/p>\n

The trio were allegedly shot dead during a robbery for their phones and car tyres at a remote camping spot on the country\u2019s Pacific coast, before being dumped down a well.<\/p>\n

The alarm for them was raised when they could not be reached by friends and family.<\/p>\n

The court was told the FBI had worked with local authorities to locate the bodies.<\/p>\n

Jesus Gerardo Garc\u00eda, Irineo Francisco and Angel Jesus<\/a> are on trial in the coastal city of Ensenada charged with murder and aggravated robbery.<\/p>\n

Martin said the family does not \u201chold any animosity against the people\u201d responsible for the brothers\u2019 deaths, but added \u201cwhat we can\u2019t understand is how they could rob the world of two beautiful men who had such bright futures\u201d.<\/p>\n

Rhoad\u2019s mother, who testified via videolink, told the court authorities had informed her that each alleged victim was shot three times.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach of the boys was shot behind the head. I\u2019m not an expert but to me it looked like an execution,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Dozens more witnesses are expected to give evidence during the four-week, judge-only trial.<\/p>\n

Rhoad\u2019s spouse and brother are set to give testimony tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The defendants have not entered pleas.<\/p>\n
