{"id":92139,"date":"2026-09-09T20:09:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T20:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/92139\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T20:09:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T20:09:14","slug":"st-stephens-school-240-seat-theatre-planned-in-9-4m-revamp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/92139\/","title":{"rendered":"St Stephen\u2019s School: 240-seat theatre planned in $9.4m revamp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">St Stephen\u2019s School\u2019s Carramar campus is set to get a new 240-seat black box theatre as part of a $9.4 million redevelopment of its technology hub.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The major refurbishment project will also deliver a new exhibition space, specialist music and drama classrooms and upgraded hospitality facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">A facelift of the existing canteen is planned to create a contemporary cafe-style space featuring indoor eating and barista training facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The multimillion-dollar redevelopment of the private school, which is run by the Uniting Church, was approved by the State\u2019s Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel last week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Principal Donella Beare said the approval was an exciting step forward for the major project as the school celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ddefc9c656ccb700eec909120077c7e490179e62-16x9-x808y0w836h470.jpg\" alt=\"An artist\u2019s impression of the planned redevelopment of the school\u2019s technology hub and canteen facilities.\" class=\"css-16r7l45-StyledImage en5ut4d0\"\/>Camera IconAn artist\u2019s impression of the planned redevelopment of the school\u2019s technology hub and canteen facilities.
