{"id":9666,"date":"2026-05-12T05:55:29","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T05:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/9666\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T05:55:29","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T05:55:29","slug":"brisbane-developer-andrew-gray-joins-lockyers-london-broncos-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/9666\/","title":{"rendered":"Brisbane developer Andrew Gray joins Lockyer\u2019s London Broncos deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brisbane property developer Andrew Gray has joined league legend Darren Lockyer and Grant Wechsel\u2019s ownership consortium of the London Broncos.<\/p>\n<p>Gray is the co-founder and co-owner with his brother Rob of the award-winning high-end luxury residential developer builder Graya which currently manages a pipeline of more than $1bn.<\/p>\n<p>Gray joins the consortium after Lockyer and Wechsel \u2013 who is also the executive chairman of MWG Mining and Aura Mining \u2013 acquired 90 per cent of the struggling club in late 2025, aiming to transform into a success on and off the field.<\/p>\n<p>There has also been speculation that the London Broncos\u2019 journey could by chronicled like the Hollywood-backed Welsh football team Wrexham on the Disney channel.<\/p>\n<p>The London Broncos currently sit undefeated on top of the Betfred Championship ladder after 11 rounds and is aiming to join the first division Betfred Super League as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Gray says that when the opportunity arose to join Wechsel and Lockyer as part of the ownership group of the London Broncos was something \u201cI couldn\u2019t turn down\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrant and Darren\u2019s long-term vision for the club and their passion to put rugby league back on the map in London is something I want to be part of,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know the hard work they have already put into building the club to where it is today and I\u2019m proud to go on this journey with them and excited for the years to come.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Wechsel says they\u2019re aiming to create a tight consortium of shareholders who could add value to the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to welcome Andrew as a shareholder. His investment shows a strong belief in the vision we have for London but also adds a lot of value to the group in what we can learn from their success with Graya,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>The London Broncos are one of Super League\u2019s founding clubs before being relegated in 2014.
