Watching the ads after the evening news snd…Jaysus Lidl!! The poor feckers are only off since Friday!
Would be the fear of God into me when I was a young fella seeing those ads. A sign that the end of summer hols was nigh.

  7. I think Aldi had a back to school thing somewhere around April. I guess for kids going back to school after Easter? I was so confused…

  8. Fadó fadó, back in my day, the likes of Crazy Prices (ha! I’m showing my age) at least had the respect to wait until mid-August or so until the dreaded back to school campaign started.

    Yes! Dreaded. Because for young me, it made it clear that the good times of summer were but a blip. The shite days of schooling were fast approaching.

    But those six weeks where I thought it’d last forever? Bliss.

    (In retrospect, it did feel like much longer than six weeks. However I’d love six weeks off work.)

    These days? Lidl and the likes have no respect for those youngsters and their summer. It’s no wonder they’re turning to vaping and the Tikkety Tok for comfort.

    In closing, bring back Crazy Prices, even if it has a somewhat questionable name in this day and age.
