Lviv n’a pas été épargnée et une alerte a aussitôt été émise. Le hasard fait que l’homme politique belge se trouvait justement à ce moment-là dans un abri anti-missiles, où il discutait avec des jeunes.

« Des roquettes et des drones ont frappé au-dessus de nous », a commenté Bart Somers auprès de HLN. Ce dernier a ajouté : « Ce n’est pas un conflit abstrait. C’est la dure réalité d’une guerre où les civils sont délibérément pris pour cible. Ce qui se passe ici n’est rien de moins que la barbarie du régime de Poutine. Cela ne fait que renforcer notre conviction que nous devons continuer à aider. C’est pour cela que nous sommes ici ».

En ce qui concerne les dégâts à Lviv suite à cette attaque, on parle de plusieurs quartiers visés, d’immeubles d’habitation qui ont pris feu et d’un patrimoine classé du centre historique de la ville endommagé. Treize personnes ont également été blessées.
