R\u00e9cemment, il a cartographi\u00e9 les aurores d&rsquo;Uranus en 3D, permettant aux <a href=\"http:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Scientists-find-a-planetary-system-that-simply-shouldn-t-exist.1227284.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">scientifiques<\/a> d&rsquo;\u00e9tudier ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne avec une plus grande pr\u00e9cision.&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Paola Tiranti, chercheuse \u00e0 l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Northumbria au Royaume-Uni, explique dans un communiqu\u00e9 de presse qu&rsquo;Uranus poss\u00e8de l&rsquo;une des magn\u00e9tosph\u00e8res les plus \u00e9tranges du <a href=\"http:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Astronomers-discover-a-mysterious-object-that-attenuates-the-brightness-of-a-distant-star.1228352.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">syst\u00e8me solaire<\/a> car elle est d\u00e9cal\u00e9e par rapport \u00e0 l&rsquo;axe de rotation de la plan\u00e8te.&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Ainsi, avec le spectrographe proche infrarouge <a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/mission\/webb\/nirspec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/mission\/webb\/nirspec\/<\/a> (NIRSpec) du t\u00e9lescope spatial James Webb, les astronomes ont pu \u00e9tudier sa rotation, ce qui constitue une avanc\u00e9e majeure dans ce domaine, comme l&rsquo;explique Paola Tiranti : <\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">\u00ab\u00a0En r\u00e9v\u00e9lant la structure verticale d&rsquo;Uranus avec autant de d\u00e9tails, Webb nous aide \u00e0 comprendre l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique des g\u00e9antes de glace. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une \u00e9tape cruciale dans la caract\u00e9risation des plan\u00e8tes g\u00e9antes situ\u00e9es au-del\u00e0 de notre syst\u00e8me solaire. C&rsquo;est la premi\u00e8re fois que nous pouvons observer la haute atmosph\u00e8re d&rsquo;Uranus en trois dimensions.Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la sensibilit\u00e9 de Webb, nous pouvons retracer la fa\u00e7on dont l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie se d\u00e9place vers le haut de l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re de la plan\u00e8te et m\u00eame voir l&rsquo;influence de son champ magn\u00e9tique d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibr\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Alors que cette image montre des aurores pr\u00e8s des p\u00f4les d&rsquo;Uranus, le t\u00e9lescope spatial James Webb a \u00e9galement confirm\u00e9 une tendance d\u00e9couverte par <a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/mission\/voyager\/where-are-voyager-1-and-voyager-2-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Voyager 2<\/a>. Lanc\u00e9e le 20 ao\u00fbt 1977 dans le cadre du programme Voyager, elle a survol\u00e9 Uranus en 1986 et d\u00e9couvert que sa haute atmosph\u00e8re se refroidissait, ce que vient de confirmer le JWST : <\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe a mesur\u00e9 une temp\u00e9rature moyenne d&rsquo;environ 426 kelvins (environ 150 degr\u00e9s Celsius), ce qui est inf\u00e9rieur aux valeurs enregistr\u00e9es par les t\u00e9lescopes terrestres ou les engins spatiaux pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">L&rsquo;\u00e9tude de cette plan\u00e8te pourrait donc aider les astronomes \u00e0 mieux comprendre les g\u00e9antes de glace et tous les myst\u00e8res qui les entourent.
