The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness, resilience, and decarbonization of a strategic industrial sector for the Union, outlining a coordinated action framework to respond to growing geopolitical uncertainties and the pressure from emerging markets.

In the current geopolitical context, the European aviation and aeronautics sectors are facing new and complex challenges that require coordinated action, such as the loss of market share on international routes, extreme vulnerability of supply chains for critical raw materials and chips, as well as a slower-than-expected spread of drones due to still fragmented regulatory frameworks and technical obstacles to integration into airspace.

In this context, Brussels has launched a public consultation to collect evidence and data to define a new EU Strategy for these key sectors.
