South African attacker Siviwe Magidigidi has reportedly gone AWOL in Belgium where he is playing for K Beerschot VA.
Magidigidi joined the Belgian outfit for a reported R7 million transfer fee from Siwelele FC in January 2026.
At the time, the 20-year-old signed a three-and-a-half year deal, meaning he still has a contract to honour.
He went to Beerschot with high expectations after taking the PSL by storm in his first few months with Siwelele FC.
According to FarPost, Magidigidi was granted compassionate leave in May, and he has never returned to Beerschot since then.
The club still doesn’t know his whereabouts but he is suspected to be in South Africa after struggling to adapt to life in Belgium.
SOUTH AFRICANS ABROAD: MAGIDIGIDI GOES AWOL IN BELGIUM
“South African youth international Siviwe Magidigidi has gone AWOL at Belgian Challenger Pro League club K Beerschot VA after failing to return from compassionate leave, FARPost can reveal,” reads part of the report.
“The former Siwelele FC forward left Belgium early in May after being granted permission by Beerschot to travel to South Africa to attend a family bereavement. However, despite the club’s approval for the trip, the 20-year-old has yet to return, raising uncertainty over his future at the Belgian outfit.”
WHAT ARE MAGIDIGIDI’S NUMBERS AT BEERSCHOT?
The 20-year-old featured seven times for Beerschot since his arrival in January which included three starts and four substitutes.
He is yet to find the back of the net for the Belgian outfit, but that could change next season provided he returns to Beerschot.
