Zelensky summarized Brussels talks and stressed allied commitments to air defenses and military funding. He warned peace needs concrete security guarantees.

President Volodymyr Zelensky summed up the talks in Brussels, naming the key directions of the meeting: strengthening air defense, funding for the army, and anti-Caliber programs. He also highlighted the importance of Ukraine’s participation in Ramstein and the Ukraine–European Council meeting for further steps to support sovereignty and security.

According to the president, after participating in Ramstein and during the Brussels meeting, the key takeaways were: Ukraine is demonstrating strength, and the allies recognize this.

We had a “Ramstein,” and there was also a Ukraine–European Council meeting in Brussels. This is the longest meeting with Ukraine’s participation in our history, and it is truly very important. The main takeaways of all partners: Ukraine is strong – everyone recognizes it, absolutely

– Volodymyr Zelensky

The president emphasized: Russia continues to pressure, but Putin’s talks about peace do not reflect reality. At the same time, partners feel the Ukrainians’ resolve and joint steps to stop the aggression.

All partners, all Europeans feel it. But all are confident that we will stop him together. The key is to do it together and stop him

– Volodymyr Zelensky

The head of state outlined future priorities: Ukraine needs modern air-defense systems, financial support for the army, and contracts for military personnel. Partners agree on the necessity of these steps and vow to implement them together.

Partners agree, we will all work on this

– Volodymyr Zelensky

Zelensky also highlighted the importance of the European anti-ballistic program and stated that Ukraine does not give up, but is working on its implementation together with partners. He stressed that dialogue with Russia is possible only with security guarantees and concrete steps toward peace.

Ukraine does not give up, therefore we will definitely push this through. This is our initiative, now together with partners. Putin wants us to burn, and he is insane – this is what partners feel. Ukraine is ready to negotiate with him, despite this

– Volodymyr Zelensky

According to the president, there will be no victory without a firm stance on a ceasefire and the provision of concrete security guarantees. The absence of such guarantees could lead to renewed escalation and a new wave of hostilities.

There will be no victory. He fears his army physically. And therefore, if there is no ceasefire with concrete security guarantees, – he will return to war. And this time others may be drawn into the fighting

– Volodymyr Zelensky

Regarding Ukraine’s involvement in NATO, the president noted that the country effectively holds the position of the second army among the allies and there is a need for de facto membership status. The leaders recognize this, and Ukraine needs strengthened support in future cooperation.

Alongside this, at the meeting EU leaders decided to extend sectoral sanctions against Russia for 12 months, signaling sustained support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and deterrence of aggression.

After the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced one of the largest aid packages under the U.S. weapons supply program PURL, totaling more than one billion dollars, as well as a package of artillery shells for long-range artillery. According to official sources, the total amount of support could reach about four billion dollars.

Ukraine has received confirmations from nine countries for the PURL program, “and these are missiles for Patriot systems worth more than one billion”

– Volodymyr Zelensky

In conclusion, Zelensky emphasized Kyiv’s readiness to maintain coordination with partners to strengthen defense capabilities and airspace, as well as to participate in future meetings and agreements aimed at stabilizing the situation in the region.
