Tomorrowland just made the concept of a 5K run genuinely exciting. Tomorrowland has officially unveiled Zone 5, a brand-new event that turns a five-kilometre run into a full-blown daytime rave, and it might be the most Tomorrowland thing they have ever done. The debut edition lands in Antwerp on Saturday 29 August 2026, and everyone who runs the 5K goes straight into a purpose-built arena for the party.
A five-kilometre run into a purpose-built daytime rave
The whole concept is built around the highest heart-rate zone in endurance training. Participants run through Antwerp with a crowd, then keep moving straight into a rave stage designed only for that day. Notably, Zone 5 is entirely non-competitive and alcohol-free, so the only thing carrying you through is the music. There are no rankings and no cut-off times. As the organisers put it, if you can move for five kilometres, you belong there.
The event fits perfectly into Tomorrowland‘s wider ambition to push beyond a single-weekend festival experience. It follows the enormous success of Tomorrowland Belgium 2025, the huge Tomorrowland Winter and the upcoming Tomorrowland Thailand debut in Pattaya. It also lines up with a bigger cultural moment for run-culture and dance music, following the recent success of Darude’s Sandstorm Run in Helsinki. Fans of Amelie Lens and Belgium’s own techno scene will find plenty of shared DNA here.
Zone 5 debuts on Saturday 29 August 2026 in Antwerp. Full sign-up and event info is available via the official Visit Antwerp page. Lace up.
