The Polaris MRZR D Tactical Off-Road Vehicle hails from Polaris’ Government and Defense division, which has over 70 years of experience in crafting all-terrain vehicles for the most austere environments. Most recently, Polaris has secured a $10.6 million NATO contract with the country of Belgium as part of a 1st call order from an NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency) framework contract that was awarded last September 2025.

This procurement approach, which is part of the NSPA process, streamlines fulfillment of vehicles for everyone involved. There is no need for additional, time-consuming and costly trials and competitions. With Polaris and the MRZR D Tactical Off-Road Vehicle being a known, valuable quantity (the vehicle) and reliable (the manufacturer), the NSPA process enables interoperability, standardization and a reduced logistics footprint across NATO members and partners.

Minneapolis, MN – July, 2026 – Polaris Government and Defense, a division of Polaris Inc. (NYSE: PII), has secured an order for MRZR D4 vehicles from the Belgium Ministry of Defence, leveraging the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) framework contract.

“The Belgium Ministry of Defence helped establish the MRZR D on the framework contract, with additional partner countries including the United Kingdom,” said Steve Canner, senior manager, EMEIA, Polaris Government and Defense. “The vehicle’s capabilities and commonality with other NATO nations will serve Belgium forces very well and we’re proud to support them.”

“With these new vehicles, we are significantly increasing our mobility and operational capabilities,” said Colonel Kristof Van Poecke, Commander, Belgium Special Operations Regiment. “They enable our operators to respond more quickly and flexibly in challenging conditions, where speed and manoeuvrability make the difference. This is an important step to maintain our operational capacity at the highest level.”

Before Hitting the Trail

For Belgium to acquire some of the Polaris MRZR D Tactical Off-Road Vehicles for their military is not considered an outlier; it is quickly becoming the norm. Belgium now joins more than 50 other military and security forces worldwide who have fielded the MRZR D Tactical Off-Road Vehicle from Polaris to support expeditionary, rapid response and special operations missions. This is a great choice logistically for Belgium and others because the MRZR D Tactical Off-Road Vehicle is not a civilian ATV modified for the military. It is a government and defense all-terrain vehicle from the ground up. This acquisition of the MRZR D4 will support the replacement of Belgium’s aging Groundhog vehicle fleet, which has been in service since 2009.
