KATHMANDU. Military helicopters and tractors are effectively assisting in controlling the fire, described as the largest in modern Belgium, by carrying water to the ground, officials said on Sunday. The wildfire started two days ago from a nature reserve center in a remote area near the German border and quickly spread over a large area. Local farmers have united to fight the wildfire in High Fens Park, preventing it from spreading further. This area is full of weak peatland and pine forests, which are frequented by hikers. Hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers are also engaged in controlling the wildfire along with them. A line of tractors is seen near the edge of the fire in Waimes. They are bringing water from Lake Robertville, a few miles to the north. Meanwhile, water-carrying Chinook helicopters from the Netherlands have also come to assist.
