Buczkowski, who races for Milton Revolution Racing, added the individual world title to an already impressive week in Belgium. Earlier in the championships, she helped Canada’s junior women’s team pursuit squad set a new national record. She and Alex Fangeat also held the IP world record last year.
Buczkowski’s season
The world title caps a strong season for Buczkowski, who collected eight medals at the Canadian junior track championships earlier this year, including gold in the team pursuit.
She has also raced extensively on the road in 2026, competing at events including the Tour de l’Abitibi Femmes and Coupe de l’Avenir. Her European campaign included Belgian kermesses, In Flanders Fields-Middelkerke-Wevelgem and the Tour du Gévaudan Occitanie Femmes.
As part of the team pursuit, Team Canada qualified second behind Great Britain, and would eventually finish fourth. The 2025 junior track world championships wrap up Sunday.
Buczkowski is part of a promising new generation of Canadian riders.
“We’re encouraged by the performances of the team at the junior track worlds and we see potential for future success with the athletes who are currently in Belgium,” Sébastien Travers, Cycling Canada’s chief high performance sport officer said. “We are looking forward to seeing this cohort of athletes develop and perform in the maple leaf over the coming years.”
