Feyenoord are unlikely to offload Luka Ivanusec this summer, club watcher Mikos Gouka reports in the AD Football Podcast. The Croatian forward is on big wages and refuses to compromise.
Feyenoord signed Ivanusec from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2023 for eight million euros. He has never really found his feet in Rotterdam.
With his contract at De Kuip running until mid-2028, the left winger is under no pressure to leave despite interest from other clubs.
Gouka says Royal Antwerp recently approached Feyenoord. As soon as they heard Ivanusec’s wage demands, talks stopped.
“Ivanusec then says: ‘if I’m going to earn less, I’m not leaving.’ Feyenoord then think: we can pay part of that salary, but we also want to make some money from him,” Gouka said.
As things stand, Gouka does not see a return to Feyenoord’s squad happening. “I sometimes read people saying: try Ivanušec on the left wing, because it cannot get any worse. Those people do not see the kind of form he is currently in.”
Even then, a summer exit from Rotterdam has not been ruled out completely. “Maybe the player will get nervous towards the end of the window and still be willing to compromise.”
