The Belgian Chamber of Commerce in South Africa (BCCSA), in partnership with the Consulate General of Belgium in Cape Town, invites the public to celebrate Belgian culture, cuisine and heritage at the 15th edition of A Taste of Belgium.

The festival will take place at the Belgian Residence, 29 Boshof Avenue, Newlands on Saturday November 14, from 10am to 5pm.

Celebrating 15 years of Belgian culture

In a statement shared by the BCCSA, organisers said this year’s edition will be held under the banner “Belgium. More than you think”, highlighting the country’s rich culture, heritage and traditions.

Consul General of Belgium in Cape Town, Nicolas Fierens Gevaert, said the festival had grown into more than a showcase of Belgian food, culture and craftsmanship.

He said it had become a platform for bringing people together and strengthening ties between Belgium, South Africa and Cape Town, while celebrating years of friendship and cultural exchange since the first event in 2014.

BCCSA vice-president Jo Serekonyane said the festival had grown from a small gathering for the Belgian community into an established cultural exchange event on Cape Town’s calendar.

Food, music and family fun

Visitors can look forward to authentic Belgian flavours, live music and entertainment, local Belgian and craft stalls, as well as family-friendly activities and cultural experiences.

Admission is free. Designated off-site parking will be available, with a regular complimentary shuttle service transporting visitors to and from the venue.
