The goal of the Affordable Housing Act, expected by the end of the year, is to implement the actions set out in the EU Plan for Affordable Housing, focusing on specific issues such as reducing bureaucracy, supporting social housing, controlling short-term rentals, and defining areas under housing stress.
“Some areas of Europe are particularly affected by the housing crisis, with people struggling to pay rent or even to find a place to live a decent life. That is why we want to provide local authorities with the necessary tools to act and truly make a difference in the daily lives of their citizens, including addressing the growing impact of short-term rentals. But we cannot solve this challenge alone. I invite everyone interested in this issue to contribute to our work.
