In the first of two friendlies this month – both hosted in Atlanta – the USMNT will face Belgium on Saturday, March 28, at 3:30 p.m. ET on TNT and HBO Max. Three days later, Portugal will meet the USMNT on TNT, truTV and HBO Max on Tuesday, March 31, at 7 p.m.
Veteran broadcaster Luke Wileman (play-by-play) will call the action for both high profile matches alongside Kyle Martino (commentator) and Melissa Ortiz (reporter), at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
On-site coverage will include hour-long pregame shows and postgame coverage. Studio coverage will be hosted by Liam McHugh with analysts DaMarcus Beasley, Brian Dunseth and former USMNT goalkeeper Brad Guzan.
TNT Sports and the U.S. Soccer Federation are in the fourth year of an eight-year multimedia rights agreement which made TNT Sports the exclusive English-language home to more than 20 women’s and men’s national team matches every year.
In addition, Bleacher Report, House of Highlights, B/R Football, and B/R W will provide content to fans throughout the year.
TNT Sports will debut a one-hour documentary, When Soccer Came to America: Goals, Glamour and the Beautiful Game, exploring the rise of the North American Soccer League in the 1970s and ’80s and the global icons – Pele, George Best, and Johan Cruyff – who helped spark America’s first major soccer boom.
Through rare archive footage and new interviews with figures including Kely Nascimento, Pele’s daughter; Calum Best; Rodney Marsh; Shep Messing, and Clive Toye, the film traces how the NASL mixed star power, spectacle and ambition to reshape perceptions of the sport in the U.S., laying the groundwork for today’s soccer culture.
The documentary will debut Saturday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m. ET, on TNT before streaming on HBO Max.
