WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – A St. Lawrence County man has died nearly a week after he was injured in a crash near Antwerp.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said 96-year-old James Tharrett of Nicholville passed away at Watertown’s Samaritan Medical Center on Monday.
He was injured in a March 24 crash between a car and an SUV on Route 11 just south of the village of Antwerp.
Officials said Tharrett was a passenger in the SUV.
The sheriff’s office said the car, driven by 44-year-old Sherry Halladay of Watertown, was turning left into a driveway and pulled into the path of the oncoming SUV.
She was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way. Officials said no additional charges are expected.
