Tottenham Hotspur forward Yang Min-hyeok, 20, is on the verge of his fourth loan move.
The Athletic reported on the 11th, Korea time, that Belgian first-division club Westerlo and Tottenham have agreed to a season-long loan for Yang. The outlet said Yang had traveled to Belgium to complete the necessary procedures, and that the loan deal does not include an option to make the move permanent.
Yang, who had starred for K League 1 side Gangwon FC, joined Tottenham in December 2024. He never made his debut for the club, however. Instead, he spent his first season in Europe on loan at Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship, the second tier, after moving there last January.
Ahead of the 2025-26 season, Yang was loaned to Portsmouth last August and then re-loaned to Coventry City in January this year. He finished the season having made just three league appearances and one FA Cup appearance during his time at Coventry.
Yang returned from his loan and prepared for a new season, but it now appears likely that he will spend another campaign out on loan. Westerlo finished 10th in the Belgian first division last season. The club has a partnership with Tottenham and has regularly taken the London side’s prospects on loan. Under contract with Tottenham through 2030, Yang will need to find a turning point on the new Belgian stage.
Yang has been included in the final squad of the South Korean men’s football team for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games next month.
