Turkmenistan<br \/>\nhas presented its evolving transit and logistics potential during a<br \/>\nthematic event titled \u201cBridging Continents: Turkmenistan\u2019s Evolving<br \/>\nTransit and Logistics Potential\u201d in Brussels, <a href=\"http:\/\/trend.az\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Trend<\/a> reports via the Turkmen<br \/>\nEmbassy in Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>The event brought together representatives of European<br \/>\ninstitutions, diplomatic missions, business circles, and expert<br \/>\ncommunities, and focused on the measures to strengthen connectivity<br \/>\nbetween Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, Turkmenistan\u2019s State Customs Service<br \/>\nhighlighted ongoing efforts to modernize the customs system,<br \/>\ndigitalize procedures, increase border crossing capacity, and<br \/>\nreduce cargo clearance time, aiming to improve transit efficiency<br \/>\nand transparency for international carriers.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing participants, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium<br \/>\nSapar Palvanov emphasized the country\u2019s strategic role at the<br \/>\nintersection of East-West and North-South routes, noting that<br \/>\nTurkmenistan is consistently developing its transport<br \/>\ninfrastructure, including roads, railways, and port facilities,<br \/>\nalong with the implementation of digital solutions to streamline<br \/>\nlogistics processes.<\/p>\n<p>Participants also noted growing interest from European<br \/>\ninstitutions in strengthening transport connectivity with Central<br \/>\nAsia, particularly in the context of developing the Trans-Caspian<br \/>\ncorridor, enhancing supply chain resilience, and expanding<br \/>\ncooperation in logistics and customs administration.<\/p>\n<p>For reference, Turkmenistan is strengthening its position as a<br \/>\nkey transit hub in Eurasia by investing in the modernization of its<br \/>\nrailway network, highway system, and logistics infrastructure,<br \/>\nwhile the Turkmenbashi International Seaport on the Caspian Sea<br \/>\nserves as a central multimodal gateway connecting Central Asia with<br \/>\nthe South Caucasus and further to international markets.<\/p>\n<p>Cargo flows along the Trans-Caspian multimodal routes have shown<br \/>\nsteady growth in recent years, reaching over 4.5 million tons in<br \/>\n2024, with around 2.3 million tons handled in the first half of<br \/>\n2025, according to international transport assessments. This<br \/>\nexpansion is supported by increasing regional trade demand and<br \/>\ninfrastructure upgrades aimed at improving transit efficiency and<br \/>\nreducing logistics bottlenecks along key Eurasian corridors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 20.
