On the palate, it offers additional notes of spice, soft tannins, freshly cut wood, and elderflower.

Released as part of Filliers’ Family Reserve collection, which honours its 145-year heritage, the 34-year-old single grain whisky was officially unveiled at an event on 9 March at the Filliers Distillery, with cuisine crafted by Belgian chef Benoît Dewitte.

With only 111 bottles produced, the limited release is the distillery’s oldest whisky and currently the oldest Belgian whisky on the market.

The release is available at select retailers and at Brussels Airport while stocks last.

Filliers Distillery’s whisky portfolio includes a signature single malt, aged in first-fill Bourbon casks, as well as Pedro Ximénez Cask Strength and 10- and 15-year-old single malts.

Last year, Filliers launched Master Distiller Selection Orange Cask whisky, finished in traditional Andalusian Vino de Naranja casks.

Related news

Glengoyne creates Signature whisky for supermarkets

Sullivans Cove: Australian whisky could be as big as wine

Annandale makes ‘major breakthrough’ in net zero whisky

Belgian family-owned distillery Filliers has released its oldest expression to date: a 34-year-old single grain whisky.
