Laid down in 1992 by Louis Filliers in a single American white oak cask, the whisky not only marks the last cask produced in his career but also the final one created by the family\u2019s fourth generation.<\/p>\n
Alongside his brother Carlos Filliers, Louis guided the distillery towards producing refined aged spirits, shifting away from its agricultural roots.<\/p>\n
The limited release honours Louis\u2019 vision and the role he played in shaping the modern Filliers Distillery<\/a>, making it a unique part of the family\u2019s heritage.<\/p>\n Made with a blend of corn, rye and malt, the whisky was aged for 34 years before being bottled in January 2026 at 52.3% ABV.<\/p>\n On the nose, the expression presents aromas of smoked hazelnuts and apricot. On the palate, it offers additional notes of spice, soft tannins, freshly cut wood, and elderflower.<\/p>\n Released as part of Filliers\u2019 Family Reserve collection<\/a>, which honours its 145-year heritage, the 34-year-old single grain whisky was officially unveiled at an event on 9 March at the Filliers Distillery, with cuisine crafted by Belgian chef Beno\u00eet Dewitte.<\/p>\n With only 111 bottles produced, the limited release is the distillery\u2019s oldest whisky and currently the oldest Belgian whisky on the market.<\/p>\n The release is available at select retailers and at Brussels Airport while stocks last.<\/p>\n Filliers Distillery\u2019s whisky portfolio includes a signature single malt<\/a>, aged in first-fill Bourbon casks, as well as Pedro Xim\u00e9nez Cask Strength<\/a> and 10- and 15-year-old single malts.<\/p>\n Last year, Filliers launched Master Distiller Selection Orange Cask whisky<\/a>, finished in traditional Andalusian Vino de Naranja casks.<\/p>\n Related news<\/p>\n \n \n
