In a statement issued by the office of EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Brussels said it \u201cwelcomes\u201d the meeting of the Armenia-T\u00fcrkiye bilateral working group held in Kars, a city in northeastern T\u00fcrkiye. The group discussed progress toward re-establishing direct rail links. \u201cThe sustained momentum in the Armenia-T\u00fcrkiye normalization process reflects the broader positive dynamics taking hold in the region \u2013 essential for lasting peace and stability,\u201d the statement read. Kars-Gyumri line to boost regional connectivity<\/p>\n
The bloc noted that once operational, the Kars-Gyumri railway would significantly enhance regional connectivity and deliver \u201cconcrete gains\u201d for communities across the South Caucasus. The EU reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening transport links through its Cross Regional Connectivity Agenda, the Global Gateway strategy, and the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.
