published<\/a> on the official website, the European External Action Service (EEAS) said the EU \u201cstrongly condemns Iran\u2019s unprovoked missiles and drone strikes against our strategic partners in the Gulf,\u201d expressing solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and Oman, which it said had been affected by the attacks.<\/p>\n\u201cWe express our solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and Oman that have been affected by the strikes,\u201d the EEAS said, urging Tehran to halt its operations immediately.<\/p>\n
The EU called on Iran to \u201cimmediately cease these attacks in blatant violation of international law and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries in the region,\u201d referencing UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and insisting it \u201cmust be fully implemented.\u201d<\/p>\n
Highlighting the interconnected nature of regional security, the EEAS said stability in Europe and the Gulf is \u201cinterlinked,\u201d adding that the EU would continue engaging with regional partners to support de-escalation efforts.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are ready to contribute to all diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and to bring about a lasting solution to end the hostilities, prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and put an end to its destabilising activities,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
