{"id":14730,"date":"2026-05-09T02:52:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T02:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/14730\/"},"modified":"2026-05-09T02:52:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T02:52:08","slug":"friday-track-bryan-sweeps-antwerp-invite-push","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/14730\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday track: Bryan sweeps Antwerp Invite | Push"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANTWERP \u2014 Bryan boys and girls track and field each took home first place finishes at the Antwerp Invitational on Friday, with the boys outpacing second place Edon and the girls outpacing second place Antwerp.<\/p>\n<p>It was a three-school race for the boys, with Bryan winning with a score of 137.5 next to Edon\u2019s 117 and Wayne Trace\u2019s 107.5.<\/p>\n<p>Spencer Woodward picked up wins for the Golden Bears in both the 200 and 400 meter races and was the only individual winner for the Golden Bears. Elijah Cummins, Kristopher Alsapugh, Pedro Lugo-Ojeda and Jeremiah Taylor took home the 4&#215;800 relay title for the Golden Bears.<\/p>\n<p>Corbin Varner led Wayne Trace in the sprints, winning the 100 meter dash and placing second in the 200. Varner was also a winner in the 800 and 1600 relays for the Raiders, running next to Eli Treece, Ben Gurney and Reece Olwin in the 800 and Treece, Olwin and Reece Morehead in the 1600.<\/p>\n<p>On the girls side, Bryan scored a 120 to outpace second place Antwerp\u2019s 105. Senior Nicolette Stickney completed the distance double, winning the 1600 and 3200 meter runs for the Golden Bears. Stickney was also first in the 3200 relay next to Anna Slagle, Ava Zimmerman and Kelsie Thiel.<\/p>\n<p>Mia Stoye led the Archers with a win in the 200 meter dash and the 100 meter hurdles while also leading Antwerp to two relay wins in the 400 and 800 alongside Amelia Graham, Kora Zuber and Emily Laker in both events.<\/p>\n<p>At Columbus Grove, the host Bulldogs claimed the Putnam County League championship in both the boys and girls meets. CG\u2019s boys team brought home the league crown for the 15th straight time while the Grove girls repeated for the second straight season as conference champs. Continental was fourth in the boys field and Miller City likewise in the girls standings.<\/p>\n<p>Grant Clementz claimed individual victories in the 200 and 400 for Continental while brother Tyson Clementz was second in the 300 hurdles. The duo combined to join junior Collin Hammond and senior Japheth Ndenab to win the 800 relay while Brady Thomsen took home the discus title.<\/p>\n<p>Third-place finishes highlighted the efforts for Miller City in the girls meet with freshman Vivian Otto (200) and sophomores Lauren Erford (1600) and Julia Recker (3200) finishing third in their respective events. Erford and Recker also ran legs of the third-place 3200 relay for MC, joined by sophomore Andrea Brickner and freshman Jordan Schroeder.<\/p>\n<p>At Elmwood, Ayersville and Wauseon both competed in the annual John Ramsey Invitational in Bloomdale. Wauseon cleared runner-up Seneca East by a 151-105 margin to win the boys team title with Ayersville ranking ninth of 11 teams while the Pilot girls were fourth with 82 points and Wauseon second with 101 behind champion Upper Sandusky\u2019s 126.<\/p>\n<p>The girls meet saw Jazlyn Sheets win both the 100 and 200 for the Pilots while running the first leg of the first-place 400 relay and the second-place 800 relay. Gretchen Schlachter and Brooklyn Michel ran legs of both relays with Grace Flory (discus) and Kellah Peabody (pole vault) adding third-place showings.<\/p>\n<p>The Wauseon girls were led by wins from Ella Rhoades in the 3200, Matea Burkholder in the pole vault and Kara Ehrsam in the shot put while Emmerie Rodriguez\u2019s time in the 300 hurdles put her in a dead heat for first place. Adelynn Crossgrove was third in both the 100 and long jump with Audrey Strader third in the 400 and fourth in both the 100 and 200.<\/p>\n<p>On the boys side, Riley Riegsecker (200) and Brayden Burkholder (shot put) were individual champs for Wauseon with Collin Mennetti (300 hurdles), A\u2019Zarrion Hicks (long jump) and Richard Noonan IV (discus) all placing second. Hicks was third in the 110 hurdles with Aiden Wood third in the 300 hurdles and Sean O\u2019Connor third in the shot put. Hicks also ran a leg in the winning 400 relay with Mennetti, who was part of the winning 400 and 1600 relays as well as the runner-up 800 relay. Riegsecker ran in both the 800 and 1600 relays with Clete Van Etten running legs of both as well.<\/p>\n<p>Ayersville\u2019s top boys finisher was Dylan Shook\u2019s third-place showing in the 1600.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan 137.5, Edon 117, Wayne Trace 107.5, Swanton 64, Antwerp 61.5, Fairview 50.5, Delphos Jefferson 31<\/p>\n<p>Shot put \u2014 1.
