breaks school record, Bryan track and field sweeps Antwerp invitational | Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANTWERP \u2014 Both the Bryan girls and boys track and field teams won their respective sides of Friday\u2019s Antwerp Invitational at Antwerp High School, and Spencer Woodward broke the Bryan school record in the 400-meter dash in the process.<\/p>\n<p>On the girls side, Bryan won with 120 points, followed by Antwerp (105), Wayne Trace (95.5), Fairview (79.5), Delphos Jefferson (70), Swanton (55) and Edon (43).<\/p>\n<p>For the boys, Bryan won with 137.5 points, followed by Edon (117), Wayne Trace (107.5), Swanton (64), Antwerp (61.5), Fairview (50.5) and Delphos Jefferson (31).<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Bears boys team had one individual winner in Spencer Woodward, who finished first in both the 200-meter dash (23.06) and the 400 (49.05) \u2014 a new school record in the 400 \u2014 while Elijah Cummins, Khristopher Alspaugh, Pedro Lugo-Ojeda and Jeremiah Taylor teamed up for the 4&#215;800 relay and won with a time of 8:41.79 to round out winners for Bryan\u2019s boys team.<\/p>\n<p>Other Bryan boys who placed in the top four were Cummins (second in the 800 in 2:07.97), Taylor (third in the 800 in 2:12.74), Alspaugh (fourth in the 1600 in 4:57.56), Evan Cassaubon (fourth in the 100 in 12.02), Carter Altaffer (fourth in the 200 in 23.77, second in the 400 in 49.65 and second in long jump with 19-06), Colton Sheline (second in the 3200 in 9:45.50), Ethan Bailey (third in the 110 hurdles in 17.61 and third in the 300 hurdles in 43.52), Samuel Gonzalez (fourth in the 300 hurdles in 44.02) and Cody Shaffer (second in shot put with 48-01).<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Bears\u2019 4&#215;100 relay team of Cassaubon, Alex Diaz, Zachary Schafer and Carson Benschoter took third place with a time of 46.17 while the 4&#215;200 relay team of Diaz, Benschoter, Bailey and Adam Elzey placed third with a time of 1:35.92.<\/p>\n<p>Elzey, Gonzalez, Taylor and Fred Parmer teamed up for the 4&#215;400 relay and came away with a time of 3:47.21 for a third-place finish to round out top performers for Bryan\u2019s boys team.<\/p>\n<p>Nicollette Stickney won both the 1600 (5:32.34) and the 3200 (12:24.14) to be the sole individual winner for Bryan\u2019s girls team while Stickey, Anna Slagle, Ava Zimmerman and Kelsie Thiel won the 4&#215;800 relay with a time of 10:34.10 to round out the Golden Bears\u2019 winners.<\/p>\n<p>Other top-four placers for Bryan\u2019s girls team were Alea Shilling (fourth in the 200 in 28.57 and second in high jump with 4-08), Breanna Richmond (second in the 400 in 1:05.20), Claire Thormeier (fourth in the 1600 in 6:04.71), Lila Brock (second in the 3200 in 13:14.74), Emme Miller (second in the 100 hurdles in 17.05 and second in the 300 hurdles in 50.65), Heidi Figgins (third in shot put with 30-10 and second in discus with 95-06) and Anna Kunsman (second in pole vault with 9-06).<\/p>\n<p>Bryan\u2019s 4&#215;100 relay team of Breanna Winzeler, Ashira Chishala, Mya Moore and Yaren Salinas finished fourth with a time of 55.95 while Slagle, Thiel, Richmond and Shilling teamed up for a third place finish in the 4&#215;400 with a time of 4:37.06 to round out top performers for the Golden Bears.<\/p>\n<p>Edon had multiple individual winners as Eli Dickmann earned a first-place finish in both the 110 hurdles (15.36) and the 300 hurdles (42.11), Brady Trent won shot put (49-05), Briggs Gallehue won discus (155-01), Kendol Brigle won both high jump (5-10) and long jump (20-10.50) and Joseph Sparks tied for first in pole vault (12-00).<\/p>\n<p>Dickmann teamed up with Hezekiah David, Brigle and Carson Stamper to win the 4&#215;100 relay with a time of 45.08 to round out Edon\u2019s winners.<\/p>\n<p>The Bombers had several top-four finishers, including Stamper (second in the 100 in 11.89), Trent (third in discus with 128-05), David (third in long jump with 18-11.50) and Grant Reed (third in shot put with 43-03) to round out top performers for Edon\u2019s boys team.<\/p>\n<p>Riley Hay was the sole winner for Edon\u2019s girls team, placing first in discus with a distance of 96-04.<\/p>\n<p>Other top-four placers for the Bombers were Addi Snyder (third in discus with 89-04 and fourth in shot put with 30-08) while Genna Ripke (fourth in high jump with 4-06), Grace Ripke, Stormlin Osborn and Nevaeh Smith finished fourth in the 4&#215;200 relay to round out top performers for the Bombers.<\/p>\n<p>Fairview had one individual winner on its boys side in Malaki Neilson, who won the 3200 with a time of 9:31.68.<\/p>\n<p>Cael Neilson finished second in the 1600 (4:46.24) while Dasen Wermer finished fourth in the 110 hurdles (18.58).<\/p>\n<p>Wermer teamed up with Kaleb Rabe, Kale Marsee and Layne Ford for a fourth-place finish in the 4&#215;400 relay (3:52.02) while Marsee, Rabe, Malaki Neilson and Cale Neilson finished second in the 4&#215;800 (8:46.56) to round out top-four placers for the Apaches.<\/p>\n<p>On Fairview\u2019s girls side, the Apaches saw individual winners in Leviah Hull in the 400 (1:01.51), Kenna Kauffman in the 300 hurdles (50.30) and Edreanne Peck in shot put (36-01).<\/p>\n<p>Placers in the top four for the Apaches were Kauffman (third in the 100 hurdles in 17.26), Bryleigh Snyder (second in long jump with 14-04) and Kendal Peck (third in the 300 hurdles in 53.17) while Kauffman, Hull, Kendal Peck and Chloe Panico finished second in the 4&#215;400 relay (4:19.91).<\/p>\n<p>Zach Smith was Swanton\u2019s sole individual winner, tying for first in pole vault with a height of 12-00.<\/p>\n<p>Placers in the top four for Swanton were Luke Bettinger (fourth in the 400 in 52.92), Camden Kozakiewicz (second in discus with 135-06), Shawn McGary (fourth in discus with 127-080, Julian Ramirez (second in high jump with 5-08) and Brady Haselman (fourth in long jump with 18-09).<\/p>\n<p>Swanton\u2019s 4&#215;100 relay team of Axavier Hornyak-Ramsey, Evan Reinhard, Gio Ruiz and Ramirez finished fourth (46.54), the 4&#215;200 team of Bettinger, Ramirez, Reinhard and Ruiz finished second (1:35.32), the 4&#215;400 team of Bettinger, Haselman, Reinhard and Charlie Meyer finished second (3:35.28) and the 4&#215;800 team of Carson Hamilton, Gabe Haselman, Levi Smallman and Meyer finished fourth (9:38.25).<\/p>\n<p>Lauren Bettinger won the 800 (2:29.28) and Audrey Robinson won the long jump (16-02) to be the Bulldogs\u2019 individual winners of the day for the girls team.<\/p>\n<p>Placers in the top four for Swanton\u2019s girls team were Jordan Nijakowski (third in the 1600 in 6:02.02), Sarah Wilson (second in shot put with 33-08 and fourth in discus with 88-05) and Audrey Carte (fourth in high jump with 4-06).<\/p>\n<p>The 4&#215;400 relay team of Lauren Bettinger, Morgan Nijakowski, Inessa Mosko and Ava Lewis finished fourth with a time of 4:40.38 while the 4&#215;800 team of Morgan Nijakowski, Jordan Nikakowski, Sofia Aguirre and Mosko finished fourth with a time of 11:45.16 to round out top performers for Swanton.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ANTWERP \u2014 Both the Bryan girls and boys track and field
