Backing the legal blockade, a commerce ministry spokesperson condemned Brussels for escalating the probe, accusing the bloc of coercing Chinese banking institutions to cooperate and unreasonably demanding sweeping, irrelevant domestic information under its FSR.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Many Chinese companies and banking institutions operating and investing in Europe had been \u201cseverely adversely affected\u201d, according to a statement published on the commerce ministry\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Exterior view of China\u2019s Ministry of Commerce, in Beijing, on April 3, 2025.
