Two other people were also severely injured, he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-6-WWTE3JIIIBAE7JGHUAP7NHQG5Q\">Interior Minister Bernard Quintin said in a post on X that &#8220;it is with deep sadness that I learned of the tragic accident that occurred in Buggenhout.&#8221; He did not provide further details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-8-BWDD477YZRE2ZIMHIKXD7ATWZU\">Police said nine people were in the minibus, according to Belgian news channel VRT, which said the children are pupils at a special needs school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-9-5C5CKF4YUVHG7JCHZYDSE6IPMI\">It quoted Thomas Baeken of Belgian track operator Infrabel saying: &#8220;Footage shows that the barriers were down and the traffic lights were red.
