We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p>Your support makes all the difference.Read more<\/p>\n<p>Four people have died, including two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/children\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">children<\/a>, after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/crash\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">crash<\/a> between a school <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/bus\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bus<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/train\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">train<\/a> travelling at high speed in northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/belgium\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Belgium<\/a>, marking one of the countries\u2019 worst tragedies on the transport network in years.<\/p>\n<p>Five children were taken to the hospital in a serious condition after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/crash\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">crash<\/a> at a level crossing during morning rush hour in the town of Buggenhout, spokeswoman Lisa De Wilde said at a news conference. <\/p>\n<p>De Wilde said that the dead included the driver of the minibus and an escort as well as two children. She said that the cause of the accident had not been established. Forensic experts in protective white suits and wearing gloves were taking photos of the scene, while a white pop-up tent was erected nearby. This is an extremely serious accident with a particularly heavy toll.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This affects us all enormously, our entire community has been hit incredibly hard.
