On Saturday, China\u2019s Ministry of Commerce confirmed that a \u201ctrade and investment consultation mechanism\u201d was being discussed.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Ling Ji, China\u2019s vice-commerce minister responsible for Europe, is expected next week in Brussels, where he is likely to meet Ditte Juul J\u00f8rgensen, the bloc\u2019s new director general for trade.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"EU trade chief Maros Sefcovic is to meet his Chinese counterpart for talks in Paris.
