The group will examine port infrastructure, vessel requirements, and commercial frameworks to develop a plan for moving zero-carbon fuels\u2014such as e-ammonia or e-methanol\u2014produced in Acu. The vessels themselves would also operate on these same zero- or near-zero-emission energy sources.<\/p>\n<p>This effort follows a preliminary feasibility study released in November 2025 by RMI and the Global Maritime Forum. That analysis pointed to favorable cost projections for e-fuels made in Acu, driven by Brazil&#8217;s policies encouraging green hydrogen, its predominantly renewable electricity network, plentiful renewable resources, and comparatively affordable capital.<\/p>\n<p>A full feasibility assessment is slated for publication before the end of 2026, with the coalition holding regular meetings in the interim.<\/p>\n<p>Green shipping corridors are defined as specific trade lanes where public and private collaboration accelerates the viability of emission-free maritime transport. Such routes are considered essential to reaching the shipping sector&#8217;s target of having zero-emission fuels constitute 5% of all marine fuel consumption by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Although the number of green corridor initiatives has grown quickly worldwide and some have advanced to implementation, the latest Annual Progress Report on Green Shipping Corridors cautioned that progress is hitting a feasibility barrier due to the price disparity between conventional fuels and their zero-emission alternatives.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t1.
