The second-line logistics building will serve Yusen Logistics and Air Promotions Agencies (APA).<\/p>\n<p>The facility is being erected on a 14,000 square meter plot situated in the eastern section of the airport&#8217;s cargo zone. Completion is scheduled for 2027. The land became free after an outdated structure was demolished.<\/p>\n<p>Airport officials stated that the new infrastructure will allow long-standing partners Yusen Logistics and APA to expand their activities at the Belgian hub. Both companies have operated in the cargo zone for many years, with Yusen Logistics focusing on the pharmaceutical sector and APA on general cargo.<\/p>\n<p>According to the airport, the partners required additional capacity to grow their businesses, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indexbox.io\/store\/belgium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brussels Airport<\/a> is aiding this new phase by offering facilities that better meet current industry standards, especially regarding operational efficiency and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The building is designed to achieve the BREEAM environmental certification. It will incorporate several sustainable elements, such as a wood beam construction, solar panels, heat pumps, rain gardens, a rainwater storage tank, electric vehicle charging stations, and bicycle parking.<\/p>\n<p>This project is part of a broader strategy by the airport to invest in cargo infrastructure and strengthen its position as a European logistics hub. The airport noted that this ambition has been demonstrated through continuous investments in modern, flexible, and sustainable infrastructure over several years.
