{"id":20922,"date":"2026-06-14T12:13:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T12:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/20922\/"},"modified":"2026-06-14T12:13:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T12:13:18","slug":"japans-imperial-couple-arrives-in-netherlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/20922\/","title":{"rendered":"Japan&#8217;s Imperial couple arrives in Netherlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Japan&#8217;s Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako have arrived in the Netherlands, the first leg of their two-week trip, which will also take them to Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>A government plane carrying the couple landed at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, local time.<\/p>\n<p>They were greeted by aides of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima as an honor guard stood in formation.<\/p>\n<p>They then headed to Het Oude Loo, a castle on a royal estate in the eastern Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese Imperial family has long enjoyed close ties with the Dutch royal family.<\/p>\n<p>The Emperor and Empress are due to stay at the castle until Tuesday.
