Nashville country musician and conservative activist Alexis Wilkins<\/a>, who’s dating FBI Director Kash Patel, is performing at an upcoming event in Brussels, Belgium, to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n

Wilkins is also fighting back against some of the scrutiny she’s faced over her ties to Patel and President Donald Trump’s administration in a recent defamation lawsuit she filed against MS NOW, formerly known as MSNBC.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a country singer, author, and political advocate, known for her Christian, patriotic, America-First, and pro-law enforcement values, her brand and ability to work in her profession would be significantly damaged if her employers, her publishers, her listeners, or her readers, believed that she was abusing the public trust and using her relationship with Director Patel to misappropriate FBI resources,\u201d Wilkins said in the lawsuit. Wilkins filed the lawsuit in late May in the U.S. District of Middle Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Wilkins, a graduate of Nashville\u2019s Belmont University, has performed at multiple politically conservative events. In February, she performed the national anthem at the National Religious Broadcasters summit in Nashville at a keynote event that also included Secretary of War Pete Hegseth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She is next expected to perform at a \u201cFreedom 250\u201d party in Brussels on June 28, which will be located near the European Parliament buildings. Another U.S. country act, the Zac Brown Band, will be the headliner.<\/p>\n

The New York Times reported in February<\/a> that Patel assigned a SWAT team of four agents and two vehicles to protect Wilkins full-time.<\/p>\n

Before that New York Times report, MS NOW had reported<\/a> Wilkins\u2019 security detail gave her inebriated friends a ride home. That MS NOW report is now at the center of Wilkins\u2019 lawsuit, which says the article \u201cportrayed Ms. Wilkins as being intoxicated even knowing that she does not drink.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lawsuit says Patel did not order FBI agents or a member of Wilkins\u2019 security detail to give Wilkins\u2019 friends a ride home. MS NOW has said it stands by its reporting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Article deliberately omits key context that Ms. Wilkins has received hundreds of credible death threats, another fact that Defendants knew from their own prior reporting,\u201d Wilkins\u2019 lawsuit says. \u201cThis is particularly manipulative, as the narrative thrust of the Article is that Ms. Wilkins is the beneficiary of misappropriated taxpayer resources.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patel is suing The Atlantic for defamation<\/a> after an article alleged he had a drinking problem, which the FBI director says is a lie.<\/p>\n
